Old Town sits directly above the medieval center. Lots are small and awkward by coastal standards, hemmed in by lanes and neighbors, which has kept prices well below the ridge.
Architects here work inward: courtyards, screens, high walls and rationed views. The best houses give nothing away from the street and open completely once you are inside.
It is the only quarter where you can walk to a bakery, a school and a bus stop, which matters more to some buyers than a stretch of sea frontage.
The other quarters
- Cypress RidgeThe high shelf above the bay. Long west views, deep lots, and the quietest road on the coast.
- The TerracesOld farm terraces turned residential, with the dry-stone walls left standing.
- Harbor PointWaterfront and near-waterfront lots with dock rights, on the sheltered side of the point.
- Marina DistrictThe walkable quarter along the quay. Apartments and townhouses, restaurants at the door, boats out front.
- The DunesFlat ground behind the beach, where nothing is allowed to stand taller than the dune.
